The Surf

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
Romans 8:37

“The surf that distresses the ordinary swimmer produces
in the surf-rider a super-joy of going clean through it.
Apply that to our own circumstances, these very things-tribulation,
distress, persecution, produce in us the super- joy; they are not things
to fight. We are more than conquerors through Him in all these things, not
in spite of them, but in the midst of them…

Undaunted radiance is not
built on anything passing, but on the love of God that nothing can alter.
The experiences of life, terrible or monotonous, are impotent to touch the
love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

My Utmost For His Highest by Oswald Chambers Published by Barbour and Company, Inc. p.67.

How Can I Keep from Singing?

My life flows on in endless song, above earth’s lamentation;
I hear the clear though far-off hymn that hails a new creation.

Through all the tumult and the strife, I hear the music ringing;
It finds an echo in my soul. How can I keep from singing?

  What though the tempest loudly roars, I know my Savior liveth;
Although the darkness binds me close, deep in the night sweet songs
he giveth.

His inner peace makes fresh my heart, a fountain ever springing;
Since Christ is Lord of heavens and earth, how can I keep from singing?

Song written by Pauline T & Robert Lowry in 1868 based on Psalm 96.

O Joy

O Joy, that seekest me through pain,
I cannot close my heart to Thee;
I trace the rainbow through the rain,
And feel the promise is not vain
That morn shall tearless be.

George Matheson (1842-1906)

Children of God

We know that we are children of God,

and that
the whole world is under the control of the
evil one.

We know also that the Son of God
has come and has given us understanding, so
that we may know him who is true. …
