Direct my footsteps according to your word;
let no sin rule over me. Redeem me from the
oppression of men, that I may obey your precepts.

“He keepeth the feet of his saints.” By his grace he enables
us to put our feet step by step in the very place which his
word ordains. This prayer seeks a very choice favour, namely,
that every distinct act, every step, might be arranged and
governed by the will of God.

and all who live in it; for he founded it upon the seas and
established it upon the waters.

Who may ascend the hill of

hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an
idol or swear by what is false.
